Under the leadership and direction of Dry Eye Expert, Dr. Pierre Alfred, our center of excellence team is comprised of highly skilled individuals focused on delivering first-rate care and relief to patients suffering from Dry Eye Disease.
Typically, when patients think of eye health, it often revolves around visual acuity and their risks for conditions such as cataracts, glaucoma, or macular degeneration. However, what patients may not be aware of is that eye health also relates to the quality of their tear film which can lead to common complaints and dry eye symptoms such as redness, discomfort, and excessive tearing.
Glaucoma is a disease that damages your eye’s optic nerve. It usually happens when fluid builds up in the front part of your eye. That extra fluid increases the pressure in your eye, damaging the optic nerve. Glaucoma is a leading cause of blindness for people over 60 years old.
The damage caused by glaucoma can't be reversed. But treatment and regular checkups can help slow or prevent vision loss, especially if you catch the disease in its early stages.
Glaucoma is treated by lowering your eye pressure (intraocular pressure). Depending on your situation, your options may include prescription eyedrops, oral medications, laser treatment, surgery or a combination of any of these.learn more
Many common eye diseases, such as glaucoma, diabetic eye disease, and age-related macular degeneration, often have no warning signs. An eye exam is the only way to detect these diseases in their early stages.
The Eye Center is equipped with the state-of-the-Art technology in diagnostic and examination equipment, allowing us to provide you with the most comprehensive eye examinations available.learn more
"I was drawn to ophthalmology because it gives me the opportunity to help people improve, enhance and protect their vision. But I like the idea that I’m restoring more than patients’ vision. I’m restoring their ability to interact and appreciate the world around them – their loved ones and friends, the beauty of nature and the ability to see it all clearly."

I have had my eye care here for many years. From the days that I wore reading glasses to now, thanks to excellent cataract surgery by Dr. Alfred, when I make art, read, drive and do everything without glasses! And they stay on top of everything about my vision that can be anticipated by my aging. I know I am in the best of care at The Eye Center.
